I was going to write about twenty entries dated randomly over the last year and a half to cover the gap since my last entry - make it look like I've been posting regularly. I was going to talk about the touring with Herb, Lani, and Burt, other projects and collaborators, the wonderful time I'm having learning to be a teacher at APU and the ways it's made me a better musician, musical things that Mari and I are both up to, the food she's cooking (OMG, the food she's cooking), my regular gig at the gorgeous/elegant/imperfect-but-still-pretty-wonderful Vibrato, my favorite club in LA, no make that the world.
Can't do it. I give.
None of us have ever experienced anything like this in our lifetime, obviously. There's nothing listed on the upcoming concerts page as the entire rest of the year, dozens of shows, are either cancelled or postponed into the not quite foreseeable future.
So here we are. Years ago, Mari and I started a company called GIC Productions. GIC stood (and stands) for God's In Control. And that's kind of all I have to say on the matter. At the risk of getting all spiritual on you, in the midst of fear, tragedy, confusion, whiplash highs and lows of all sorts, and information that changes hourly - some things don't change. I get my peace, joy, inspiration, and reason to live from God, Jesus Christ, and their partner in the firm, the Holy Spirit. That's what keeps me going at the end of the day, especially when I can't remember what day it is.
Anyway, onward and upward. If you're reading this, in some way you've heard of me and my music, for which I thank you for the bottom of my heart. More than I can say. There will be new music coming (at some point!) and we look forward to sharing it with you.
